• How does the blacklist work?

When a person calls you from a number on your blacklist, we'll play a message that your phone number has been disconnected and is no longer in service. You'll need to decline the incoming call so it can be sent to our system.

Our Android app also offers the ability to auto-reject calls from numbers on your blacklist so you won't be bothered.

  • What is Privacy Lock?

TrapCall unmasks BlockedRestricted, and Private calls you receive. Unknown calls and VoIP numbers can't be unmasked, but with Privacy Lock, these calls can't get through unless you let them. When this feature is enabled, unknown callers you reject are asked to record their name before the call is connected. When the call rings back to you, we'll play their recorded name and give you the chance to accept, hang up, or send the call to voicemail. This feature is available with a Premium or Ultimate subscription.

  • Problems enabling Spam Call Blocking for iPhone?

We hope enabling Spam Call Blocking for iPhone is a seamless process for you, but if you receive an Error Enabling Extension message, or have difficulty enabling the TrapCall button under the Call Blocking & Identification portion of your iPhone's Settings, we're here to help!

The first troubleshooting step Apple recommends is to simply close the Settings app and wait roughly 2-3 minutes. Then, reopen the Settings app and navigate to Phone > Call Blocking & Identification and attempt to enable TrapCall one more time. If everything has loaded properly by this time, there’s a good chance this will be successful.

If the error persists, please ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS. Once that’s done, we recommend uninstalling TrapCall from your phone, rebooting the phone, and then reinstalling the app through the App Store, just to be sure that everything is loaded properly on your device.

If the error still occurs after walking through these troubleshooting steps, please contact our support team so we can ensure that this error is resolved and you can use Spam Call Blocking for iPhone without any issues!

  • What is Live Caller ID?

Live Caller ID allows you to put a name and a face to an unrecognized caller. Whenever you receive a call from a number that is not in your contacts, you can decline that call to have it sent to TrapCall, and then we'll forward it back to you with the the name, photo, and address of that caller if that information is available to us. At that point, you can choose to answer the call and speak to the person, or you can decline the call to send it to voicemail, just like any other call.

In addition, Live Caller ID will automatically save a contact on your phone with this information so that if you get a call from this number again, you'll see their information as soon as you receive the call. If you'd like to delete these contacts all at once, just open the TrapCall app and tap on Settings > Call Settings > Purge Live Caller ID contacts.

Live Caller ID is currently available for our Premium and Ultimate users who have our iPhone app installed.

  • Why am I receiving a call from (229) 518 - 6462?

This number is assigned by TrapCall when you receive a call that was unable to be unmasked. This can happen if the call is being routed through the internet, such as a web based phone or VOIP service, or wifi calling. Unfortunately, these calls don't have a caller ID and can't be unmasked.

We recommend adding (229) 518 - 6462 to your TrapCall blacklist. Anytime a call cannot be unmasked, and this number is identified, the caller will hear "the number you have dialed has been disconnected, or is no longer in service". This may either direct the caller to call back with a blocked caller ID from a different phone, which will more than likely be unmasked, or discourage them from continuing to call.

You can also enable Privacy Lock if you have a Premium or Ultimate subscription. When this feature is turned on, unknown callers you reject are asked to record their name before the call is connected. When the call rings back to you, we'll play their recorded name and give you the chance to accept, hang up, or send the call to voicemail.
